Skin Resurfacing & Rejuvnation

Chemical peels, dermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing all achieve results in basically the same way. Layers of your skin are removed and, as the healing process progresses, a new, healthier-looking skin emerges. What differentiates the various resurfacing methods is the way in which the skin's layers are removed. Chemical peels involve the application of a caustic solution, dermabrasion utilizes high-speed rotary wheel, and laser resurfacing uses a laser beam. Patients may have their skin resurfaced at almost any age. You may have certain characteristics that make you a better candidate for one technique rather than another, we also evaluate our personal experience using the different methods and technologies available to best determine which type of treatment and machines are up to our patient's standards.

  • CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. It is helpful for those individuals with superficial facial blemishes, wrinkles and uneven skin pigmentation. Phenol, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) are used for this purpose. The precise formula used may be adjusted to meet each patient's needs. Although chemical peels may be performed in conjunction with a facelift, it is not a substitute for such surgery, nor will it prevent or slow the aging process. We use the most medically advanced and best performing peels available on the market today such as Cosmelan Peel, ViPeel (Phenol), in addition to 30-70% Glycolic, Alpha Hydroxy, Beta and LHA Peels.
  • FRAXEL
Fraxel laser is a technology that is used for dealing with age spots, melasma (Mask of Pregnancy), sunspots, wrinkles at various parts of the face, upper lip lines, sun burned skin, and acne scars. The Fraxel laser uses a recently developed technology known as the Fractional Resurfacing technology. This technology basically means that only a fraction of the targeted skin will receive the laser light. The laser will make microscopic “wounds“ very deep within the outer surface of the skin, thus, maintaining the normal health of the rest of the surrounding skin. This series of closely spaced laser spots created in the deep treatment sites, known as microscopic treatment zones, basically erase the aged epidermal pigmented cells. This process stimulates the body's own natural production of new collagen and skill cells.

The process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects. The gentle, non-ablative treatments use broad spectrum light to treat the face, chest, neck and hands, virtually anywhere that sun damage shows. .
